The Best of the Windy City...

Tyler and I took off last week to Chicago for a fun getaway after a long semester. Braving the cold was so worth it! We had a blast. Here is a peek at the best moments from our trip....

Seeing "Wicked"! We were both so excited to see the show and it doesn't let down! We love the lottery and thank Erin (Mel's friend) for being lucky and winning us tickets!

Eating delicious food! We ate, ate, and ate. When all you've got in Cedar City is the local Winger's, Chili's and Applebees you take adavantage of the delicious food around you.

The Jazz vs. Bulls game at the United Center. It was such a good game, even if the Jazz didn't pull out the Win. We were at the very top, but it was still really fun and we cheered pretty loud admidst all the die hard Chicago fans.

The Lincoln Park Zoo. This zoo was amazing! It was huge and in such a fun part of town. Oh, yeah, and the best part was that it was free! We spent a good part of our day there and had such a fun time!

The Nutcrakcer. Tyler was so sweet and took me to the ballet. It was the Joffery Ballet which used to be located in NYC but currently moved. They were fabulous and we enjoyed the dancing, music, and fun holiday spirit it put us in.

The Sears Tower. This one was for Ty. He wanted to see the engineering and all that good stuff. It was kind of foggy the day we went up, but it was still pretty cool. I was totally freaked because of the heights, but it was cool.

The Field Museum of Natural History. This was super neat. They had all sorts of exhibits and it took us six hours to see everything we wanted. Very cool and very fun.

All in all it was an awesome trip. We were only cold one day we were there and nothing bad happened! We are excited to be back and wish everyone a very very Merry Christmas!

Happy Birthday to Grandpa!

I am so glad to have married into a family with wonderful Grandpa's and Grandma's. This Saturday we got to celebrate Grandpa Ken's 85th birthday with a surprise party. It was fun to get together as family and be able to remember the wonderful life this man has had a the legacy that he has created. We love you grandpa! Happy Birthday.
