It's time to be Grateful!

So this morning was not a good morning. I was tired, which for those of you who know me well, is not ever a good thing. I also had a million things to do today and not enough time to do them! I felt like I was losing it. Then I arrived to work and had received bad news about one of my classes and more assignments for work. This for some reason made me really angry. From about eight o'clock until eleven I was not a happy camper. I give myself stomach aches when I get upset and a mean one was setting on. I quickly said a prayer to eliminate some of this stress I was causing myself. Then promptly after the prayer I wanted to slap myself, I was focusing on all the bad things that were happening, instead of being happy and GRATEFUL. So I feel like for my own sake, surely not yours, I wanted to write all of the things I am grateful for. It's a good time of year to do this, and since blogging has over taken journal writing, I am going to post it.

The gospel, warm/comfortable homes, having a job, getting an education, my wonderful and extremely patient husband, my sister, my brothers, my trials, the temple, nieces and nephews!, wonderful friends, the holy ghost, my frog blanket, parents and in laws who are close/concerned/and oh so loving, food on the table, a car that starts every morning, gas prices coming down, music, entertainment, jewelry, Sundays, funny co-workers, my ipod, my body, my health, the atonement, the United States, my talents and abilities, chocolate, the beautiful world around me, on and on.

This list is relatively short to what is going on in my mind. I feel like I needed to remember that everything we have is a gift and we need not waste it. I was brought quickly today as I was caught up in the menial tasks of life back to my experience of being in "Our Town" a few years ago. I learned so much about appreciating all of these small and seemingly simple things of life. It all matters, even President Monson said so when he said that we ought to be enjoying our journey.

There is a lot to be grateful for and I agree with a lot on your list. Hopefully you'll get some sleep and not be so grumpy tomorrow! I hate those days!
